Students’ Council

Vision

Molding students for accountable citizenship and future opportunities.


Mission

Serve the people through pre-eminence in creating, communicating, preserving and applying knowledge, art and academic values and in developing leaders and citizens who will challenge the present and enrich future.


Goals & Objectives

  • To act as a link between the students, teachers and management.
  • To bring social awareness amongst students by conducting blood donation camps, first aid camps, health camps, etc.
  • To achieve the goal of personality development of students by organizing various guest lectures.
  • To strengthen relationship among students through various healthy practices. To organize various seminars like career guidance, about various job opportunities etc. for upliftment of students.
  • To organize various cultural activities for all round personality development of students.

Concept

Concept of Students’ Council is to mobilize the student leaders of the college to come together on a single platform with a vision to bring out a positive change by regularly convening meetings with the administration and staff and guide them in executing the activities for student community at large.


Objective

  • To create a common platform for the student leaders.
  • To facilitate communication between administration and students.
  • To sensitize the members to think on students issue.
  • To create cohesion and a sense of togetherness among the students for future teamwork.
  • To inculcate democratic outlook.
  • To commence a process to achieve fairness & group harmony.

Constitution

College Level Students’ Council is formed under Section 40 (2) (b) of the Maharashtra University Act, 1994 and the guidelines issued by Department of Students’ Welfare, University of Mumbai

Students’ Council consists of the following:
  • Principal- Chairman
  • One Lecturer nominated by the Principal
  • Teacher In-Charge of National Cadet Crops
  • National Service Scheme Programme Officer
  • One student from each class, who has shown academic merit at the examination held in the preceding year and who is engaged in full time studies in the college nominated by the Principal
  • Director of Sports and Physical Education, if any
  • One student from each of the following activities shown outstanding performance, nominated by the Principal:
    • Sports
    • National Service Scheme
    • National Cadet Corps
    • Cultural Activities
  • Two Lady students nominated by the Principal provided that, two of the students from the categories (7) & (8) shall be those belonging to the Scheduled caste or Scheduled Tribes or De-notified Tribes( Vimukta Jatis) or Nomadic Tribes or Other Backward Classes.

Students’ Welfare

Concept

Concept of Students’ Welfare is to build the students personality for their overall development through the organization of activities in diverse field of their need. It works for the welfare of society and students at large.

  • To achieve the goal of personality development of students.
  • To strengthen relationship among students through various healthy practices.
  • To organize various cultural activities for all round personality development of students.
  • College Level Students’ Welfare is formed under the guidelines issued by College Principal

Students’ Welfare consists of the following:
  • Principal- Chairman
  • OIn charge of Students’ Council
  • Faculty In Charge, Arts
  • Faculty In Charge, Commerce
  • Faculty In Charge, Science
  • In Charge, Examination Committee
  • In Charge, Women Development Cell
  • In Charge, Cultural Committee
  • In Charge, Sports Committee
  • Secretary, IQAC
  • One student from each division, who is engaged in full time studies in the college nominated by the Class Teacher
  • One student from each of the following activities shown outstanding performance, nominated by the respective In charges :
    • Sports
    • National Service Scheme
    • National Cadet Corps
    • Cultural Activities
