Vision
Economics for the welfare of society.
 
Mission
Make the students aware of Economics, responsive for changing environment and to accept the challenges of privatisation, liberalisation and globalisation.
 
Goals and Objectives
• To make students understand the basic concepts of Economics.
• To generate awareness amongst students about changing environment in Economics.
• To organise field visits, surveys and to understand the basic theories of Economics in practical world.
• To motivate and inspire students to undertake projects on various Economic issues of local area through personal interaction.
• To enhance knowledge of the faculty by motivating them to participate in seminars, workshops, conferences, symposia etc.
• To encourage the faculty for faculty development programmes.

  • Mr. Sahasrabuddhe Prasad has got ‘The best N.S.S. volunteer award’ for Raigad district by N.S.S. cell, University of Mumbai.
 
Departmental publications :
  We have started a ‘Planning forum to stimulate dexterity of reasoning of the students under which, department publishes ‘Planning forum bulletin’ every year.

  • A case study of small scale industries in Panvel M.I.D.C.
  • Socio-economic status of the staff of the Changu Kana Thakur Arts, Commerce and ScienceCollege, New Panvel.
 
Organisation of University and state level Workshops :
  • Department had organised a one day workshop to review and revise standard syllabi for F.Y. / S.Y. /T.Y.B.Com. classes to be effective from academic year 2005-2006 for Raigad zone, on 28th April 2004, in collaboration with Board of Studies in Business Economics, University of Mumbai.
  • Department had organised one day state level seminar on the occasion of ‘Centenary celebration co- operative movement in India-1904 to 2004’ on 19th August 2004
