Participation in intercollegiate competitions :
  Students are encouraged to participate in intercollegiate quiz and other competitions
  • In the year 2002-2003 students of S.Y.B.Sc., Mr. Neerajkumar and Ms. Preeti Balgi participated and stood 5th in intercollegiate quiz competition held at Ruia College, Matunga, Mumbai.
  • In the year 2003-2004 students of S.Y.B.Sc., participated and presented a project on ‘Unusual bacteria’ in intercollegiate competition held at Department of Microbiology, Ruia College, Matunga, Mumbai.
   
Micro gallery :
  With the help of staff, student maintains regular wallpaper in the department.
   
Micro visuals :
  To assist teaching, C.D.’s related to T.Y.B.Sc. syllabus are shown to students regularly and discussion regarding it is carried out.
   
Micro symposia :
  To inculcate research a?itude and aptitude common reading of scientific journals is carried out and students are encouraged for discussion.
   
Expert lecture series :
  Every year department organises expert lectures of experienced, eminent lecturers to make the students well conversant with their papers, subject and respective practical.
   
Efforts taken by department for development of students :
  •Journals and periodicals are read and discussions on the same are carried out in the department
  •Every year a parent-teachers meeting was conducted.
  •Annual seminars are conducted for S.Y.B.Sc. and T.Y.B.Sc. students.
  •Department encourages students to participate in science exhibitions held by science association every year.
  •Students participate in various competitions organised by department, science association and other colleges of university.
  •Certificate and Diploma Course in Biotechnology are started for F.Y.B.Sc. and S.Y.B.Sc. students respectively.
