Diploma course conducted by the department :
	The department has started a ‘Diploma Course in Tours, Travel and Tourism Management’ of University of Mumbai.

Competitions / special efforts for the students :
	• The department has organised essay writing competition on current environmental and social problems. Geography
	• The department organised observation programme of venus marching for the college students on 8th June 2004.
	• The department organised sky observation programme.
	• The department organised a lecture on ‘Global positioning system’ of Dr. Reddy, Scientist of Indian Institute of Geomagnetism in collaboration with Department of Physics on 17th September 2004.

Guest lecture series :
	For getting valuable information regarding University examination pattern and career guidance, every year we have been conducting guest lecture series.

Study tours, village surveys and educational visits :
	For acquiring practical knowledge related to the syllabus, every year we have been organising study tours and village survey for T.Y.B.A. students at various geographical places.
	Study tours - Department has conducted study tours at following places - Pratapgad fort - Mahabaleshwar - Raigad fort Aurangabad - Paithan - Jayakwadi Karnala fort Marleshwar and Ganpatipule Mahabaleshwar, Pratapgad fort and Harihareshwar Mount Abu, Udaypur and Chittodgarh.
	Village surveys - Department has conducted village surveys at following places - Bhatanpada, Tal - Panvel, Dist. - Raigad Mohapali, Tal - Panvel, Dist. - Raigad Koralwadi (Apte), Tal - Panvel, Dist. - Raigad Dhodhani, Tal - Panvel, Dist. - Raigad.
	Educational visits - Department organised visits at following places - Nehru Planetorium and Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai Visit to Shantivan, Nere, Tal - Panvel, Dist. - Raigad Exhibition of Arial Photographs at Gokhale Hall, Panvel Yusuf Meher Ali Centre, Tara, Tal - Panvel, Dist. - Raigad Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Navi Mumbai.

Organisation of workshops :
	Department organised one day workshop on ‘Use of computer, G.I.S. and remote sensing technology in Geography’ on 9th October 2004.

Future plans :
	To develop well-equipped observatory in the college campus. Collection of various samples of rocks and minerals and develop a small museum..

Presentation of paper -
	Presented a paper at state level workshop on ’The implementation of healthy practices and effective use of quality enhancement’ conducted by Gogate-Joglekar College, Ratnagiri, in association with NAAC, Bangalore on 23rd and 24th March 2005.

	• Attended the orientation course on N.S.S. at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai from 2nd to 11th February 1999.
